Rhododendron Leaf hopper (Graphocephala fennahi)

This shot of the Rhododendron leaf hopper (Graphocephala fennahi) was taken at Ramsdown in Dorset, which is opposite to Sopley Common. This leaf hopper is native to North America and eats the sap of the Rhododendron plant, hence it’s name. The Rhododendron is seen as a pest by many here in the UK, so with the clearance of this plant in more and more places we may no longer be able to see this pretty little bug.

The amount of flash light to the subject was controlled by adding the Olympus OM T32 ND4 filters to both Olympus OM T28 flash heads.
