Limestone Pavement at Bryn Alyn
Bryn Alyn is a hill and site of special scientific interest located near the village of Eryrys, North Wales. Here you will find a natural limestone pavement where the soil has been stripped away to expose the limestone rocks. According to the BBC Nature website this is created by the action of glaciers during the ice age and activity of primitive farmers.
We parked by a quarry near to the hill, and followed a walk route that took us around the quarry before walking along a lane to cross some fields to get to the Hill. It was dull occasional drizzly day so I only took the limestone pavement on the walk. I bracketed 3 shots on my Olympus OM-D EM-5 DSLR for these pictures, and then used either the HDR technique or conversion to black & white to obtain the final results.
