Valley of Fire, Nevada
The Las Vegas holiday also featured a trip to the Valley of Fire that lies within the State of Nevada. This state park is famous for it’s red sandstone formations that were formed approx 150 million years ago, and there are car parks situated close to all of the major featured attractions located around the park.
These are my pick of the shots taken that day.
The Beehives, with the first shot taken on digital whilst the second is on Fuji Velvia 50 Slide film.

Mouse’s Tank. Named due to an alleged Southern Paiute Indian renegade called ‘Little Mouse’ using it as a hide out in the 1890′s after he was accused of gunning down two prospectors.

The return to Las Vegas was on a highway that allegedly ran along side Lake Mead. You had to actually turn off the main highway and drive several miles to get a reasonable view of the Lake. This shot shows how much the water levels of the Lake have dropped.

The one great part of the drive back was this photo as the sun set.
