Springtails

Here is my selection of springtail shots taken in March this year. All found under decaying logs and branches within Ramsdown wood near Hurn in Dorset.

My set up  – Olympus EM5 Mk II camera, legacy Olympus 80mm F4 macro lens , attached to Olympus OM Telescopic Auto Extension Tube 65~116 plus 25mm extension tube, with Olympus FS-STF22 twin flashes with flash diffusion fixed to a manfrotto flash bracket.

I will start with the longer springtails known as elongated-bodied springtails (approx 3-10mm in length), and first this 2 image stack panorama of a black elongated-bodied springtail.
