Fly Fest
This fly fest is a selection of my best fly pics taken from April through to end of July. All bar two of them were found at Blashford Lakes nature reserve, the other two are from High Wood, Badbury Rings.
First the ones that either 1) I am able to identify or 2) I am able to make an educated guess.
i) Drone Fly (Eristalis pertinax)

iv) Land caddis fly (Enoicyla pusilla)

v) Helophilus pendulus hoverfly

vi) Sphegina clunipes hoverfly

vii) A Snipefly (Family Rhagionidae)


viii) A gold snipefly (Family Rhagionidae)

ix) Robberflies


x) Dance/Dagger flies, 2nd shot is a Dance fly (Bicellaria vana)


xi) Possible thick-headed fly (Myopa buccata)
