Partnach Gorge (Partnachklamm)
We moved from Salzburg to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, a Bavarian alpine resort in Germany, for the 2nd week of the holiday. This town is surrounded by the Alps, including Germany’s highest mountain Zugspitze, which we hoped to be able to go up to on a good clear day.
The weather wasn’t that accomodating on our 1st day, low grey cloud, so we decided to go and take a look at Partnach Gorge (Partnachklamm). The public transport is also very good here, so we took the bus to the Olympic ski area where you can take a 15 minute gondola ride up Mount Eckbauer, and then walk back down to the gorge and eventually the return to the Olympic stadium.
Here a couple of photo’s on the way to the gorge.
and here are a few photo’s from the day of Partnach Gorge (Partnachklamm) itself.
It’s well worth a visit.
