Raise your hand the eyes have it!
I made the theme of this selection of macro photo taken back in July and early August of this year to show off the many varied colours eyes of the small creatures. So raise your hand to the eyes!
It may be a distant memory now but it was hot during these months.
The 1st was found at High Wood beside Badbury Rings, all of the others found at Blashford Lakes nature reserve.
Crab spider orange/yellow eyes
Green & Blue eyed mating flies.
A black eyed bee or sawfly
Red eyed flies and shieldbug
A bumble bee with a litte bit of pink of the flower in the eye.
Dark eye & blue eyes are of a few of the plague of Alder leaf beetles (Agelastica alni) found at Blashford this year.
Many eyes of a red ant & aphids
Tiny eye of a weevil
Finally red & green eyes of the Large Red Damselfly (Pyrrhosoma nymphula)
Hope you enjoyed them.
