Macro

1st macro shots of the year

This Monday just gone was the 1st opportunity to take some macro shots. The location was Ramsdown near Hurn and the subject tiny globular springtails.

I classify this type of macro, as extreme, given they are about 1-5mm in size, and require magnifications of around 3.5x +. The magnification was achieved using my Olympus OM-D EM-1 MK II DSLR with the Zuiko Olympus 38mm Macro F2.8 lens.

I found two types of globular springtail on some twigs and logs, the Dicyrtomina ornata and Dicyrtoma fusca.
