Alien shrooms & more tiny critters

Spring is still to make an appearance so continued the search under logs and leaves at both High Wood and Garston Wood for tiny things to photo with my Olympus 38mm macro lens.

First up found these alien looking micro shrooms at Garston Wood.

Next up, a Pseudoscorpion (Microbisium brevifemoratum), which actually belong to the same class as spiders. I have seen these before but never managed to achieve a reasonable image. Although on this evidence I still need to improve the flash lighting set up to achieve better results.

  • Superb first shot of the micro shrooms. Mite is excellent and really well lit. The springtail that you say is new is a barkfly
